Chapter 13: This year

This year, I am going to Star Elementary. Every morning, I take the bus to school and Cole and my mom walk me to the bus stop. I don't take the bus home after school, though. I did on the first day but the trip was so long that I feel asleep on the bus.

On Mondays, I go to a special program at a different school. The program is called Challenge and we do really interesting projects there all day. I am liking school this year. My favorite friends to play with are Keaton, Kylan, Luke, Josh, Mitch, Max and Riggin, and of course, my cousin, Sam. A new boy just moved in across the street. I went over to his house to introduce him but we haven't played together yet.

I am taking swimming lessons twice a week. It is fun and I can tell that I am improving as a swimmer. I am also taking a music class. We each have our own set of bells and we learn rhythm and beats. I really like it. I played tackle football for the first time the other night. It was a lot of fun. I want to start playing it a lot. I go to a soccer camp every Saturday. I am one of the oldest people at the camp. It is great and I know I am getting to be a better player.

I am really excited about my new little sister who will be born soon. I am trying to convince my mom to let her sleep with me in my room. She says that probably won't happen.

I can't wait to see all the cousins again. It seems like it is too far away!

  1. Dear Charlie,
It was fun for me to read your blog and to learn more about what you are doing. I think about you everyday and wonder what you are doing at your new school and what you do when you get home from school. I know you are getting things ready for your new baby. I am getting something ready for your new baby sister too. It is a big basket basinet that you can move around. So maybe sometimes she can take a nap in your room. By then Cole will be back with Danny and we won't have to worry about him accidently knocking over her bed. Uncle Paul will be making some trips down to Utah Valley so hopefully he will be able to take the basket back to Star when I am able to get it fixed up.
We love you Charlie and we are very proud of you and the way you have made new friends at Star Elementary. We know that you will always be a good example to your friends of always choosing the right. Remeber when you were a little boy and Grandpa always told you that you were Jesus's boy? You really are and He counts on you to always be an example of someone who is trying to be like Jeus and following in His ways.
You try to love other people as He did in all that you do and say. You try to remember the things that He taught and then you feel the Holy Spirit enter into your heart saying "Love one another as Jesus loves you, try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in word and in thought"-- for these are things Jesus taught.
Today David, CoCo and Gabe are going to come down to our house and we are going to the Park so that their Mother, Aunt Carrie, can have a nap. Their Daddy, Uncle James is writing a paper for his class so the rest of the family are coming to Provo so that Uncle James can work without any noise. We wish you could come to the Park with us but we know you are going to Primary and we hope you have a good time with your friends and family in Star. We love you Charlie and we always remember you in our prayers. Have a wonderful Sunday and get ready to hear our prophet, President Monson next Sunday. Love, Grandma and Grandpa.
